rolling across the start line at 20 mph, or rolling across the start line at 3 mph?correct, 20 mph... to get to that 20mph, you need to get a running start, and the only way to do that is to get as much 'roll out' room as scott mentioned. it's very similar to road courses... slow in, fast out... the faster you are leaving a turn, the more distance/speed you will gain over someone who is slow out. Kinda of a momentum thing I guess. ps, only NHRA pro super duper 300mph dragsters get to 20mph in the first 12" of their launch. I just used the number for exageration purposes.
